God is love. This is how we know what love is. God gave his one and only Son as an atonement for us. Just as Jesus laid down his life for us, we should lay down our lives for our brothers. This is how we know we belong to the truth: our hearts are at rest in his presence whenever our hearts betray us. He is greater than our hearts. Everyone born of God overcomes the world. We therefore have confidence in approaching God: if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. Amen!
